Billboard Ad

This is my finished piece, i have tried to make it look more realistic but i was really struggling. Although  i feel like my initial idea clearly comes across and you can see what i was trying to achieve even if the design is not up to its best.

Newspaper Clipping

I found this newspaper clipping from Flickr and i felt this would be perfect for my piece,

After using the stamp tool in photoshop i was able to delete the text in the 2 boxes up and down from the blank center piece, this way i can add different horoscopes in-place to enhance the fact of it been a horoscope in a newspaper.

After adding in my text for the horoscope, advertising the program 'grand designs' i felt it needed something to draw attention to the horoscope. I mentioned using a red circle as if the user of the newspaper had read it and circled his horoscope...

Logo

I have chosen the name, YOUR4. Going on the fact that channel 4 have said there wont be no repeats on the channel i feel that 'your4' is as if the channel is directed at an audience that dont like repeats, 'its your channel' is the slogan.

Creating the logo its self was a quick easy decision, after having a little play around designing ideas i tried to take one further in Adobe Illustrator...

Initial Ideas

My idea for the billboard adverts is to write a horoscope that will tell the reader that they may be watching the new program on the new over 60 channel from channel 4. I need to either use a blank piece of newspaper and print my horoscope onto to make it look more realistic or design a piece that has the feel that it is in a newspaper. 

This is a nice example of what idea i have in my head, to grab the readers attention i may even consider putting a sort of red biro ring around the chosen horoscope.

Researching Horoscopes

After looking threw a number of horoscopes i have found that they all talk in a way to make the reader try and relate whats been said to there day to day life. They do that in such a way by using the words 'you may' and 'it looks asif' etc. To really make my advert come across asif it is a real horoscope i am going to have learn how to write in this mysterious style of writing.
